Verdane IV portfolio company Banqsoft acquired by KMD

KMD's international ambitions are now taking shape in the Danish IT group's first major international investment. The company has just acquired the Norwegian IT group Banqsoft AS, which is engaged in software for the financial sector. Banqsoft is headquartered in Norway and has offices in Sweden, Finland and Poland. As well as the international dimension, the acquisition is also of strategic importance to KMD's growth ambitions in the private sector.


Verdane investment to help inRiver drive international growth

Verdane Capital VIII (Verdane VIII) invests $10m in inRiver, a leading Swedish enterprise software company, to drive accelerated growth in the US and Europe, and to further strengthen inRiver’s cloud offering within Product Information Management (PIM) enterprise software.

Lesley Pennington, with a successful career at Apple in Silicon Valley, moved to Sweden and started the e-commerce company Bemz in 2005. The Bemz business idea - to design sofa covers for IKEA sofas - proved to be a great success. This year the company celebrates ten years and Lesley brings in new investor Verdane Capital VIII to allow for rapid expansion in the global market.


Verdane VII portfolio company Babyshop acquires Babyshop Norway

Babyshop.com, the leading children's e-commerce retailer in the Nordics has acquired Norwegian premium retail chain Babyshop. Together with AlexandAlexa.com, which Babyshop.com acquired in November 2014, the award winning retailers have a leading market position within the children’s premium fashion and product segment.


Verdane portfolio company Codenomicon acquired by Synopsys

Octoshape to provide Akamai unique video optimization technology designed to enable superior IP broadcast experiences.

Verdane Capital VII and related funds (“Verdane funds”) announced today that Akamai Technologies, Inc. acquired Octoshape in a cash transaction on April 6, 2015. Octoshape’s services are designed to help optimise the quality of video streams for over-the-top (OTT) content and to enable Internet Protocol television (IPTV) solutions.
